What Upwork costs you

Upwork's Freelancer Service Fee is 0% to 15% per contract, shown before you propose or accept. Most proposals cost Connects at USD 0.15 each, and a withdrawal to a local bank costs USD 0.99.

What you give up by leaving

Upwork bills the client for you, and hourly and fixed-price contracts carry payment protection when you meet its requirements, such as logging your hours.

On a job board like OnlineJobs.ph the employer pays you directly. OnlineJobs.ph says it steps in on pay disputes and removes employers who refuse to pay. With an agency, the agency pays you under your contract.

Where DayShift fits

DayShift is ours, so weigh this part accordingly. Its clients are in Singapore and the region on GMT+8, every listing shows its pay, and applying is free. It's small: about 30 open roles on the day this was written.
