Where a region shows a range, the rate depends on where you work or how many people your employer has:

How much is the minimum wage a month?

The NWPC's FAQ gives the formula: the daily rate times the days you're paid in a year, divided by 12. It uses 313 days for a worker who doesn't work and isn't paid on rest days (a six-day week), 261 days for a five-day week, and 365 days for a monthly-paid worker.

At NCR's P755 a day, that's P19,692.92 a month on a six-day week, or P16,421.25 on a five-day week.

When is the next minimum wage increase?

Three wage orders already set the date of the next increase:

Metro Manila's 2026 increase needed two wage orders, NCR-27 and NCR-28. Wage Order NCR-27, approved in June 2026, set P755 from July and P780 from January 2027. NCR-28's own text says a status quo ante order, a restraining order and an injunction followed, and NCR-27 "never took effect". NCR-28 replaced it with a P60 increase to P755, from 26 September 2026, and it has no second step.

On 29 September 2026, the NWPC said wage boards in Regions I, II, III, IV-A, VI and XII were holding consultations, so check back for those regions.

Does the minimum wage cover you?

Wage orders cover private sector workers, whatever their job title or how they're paid. The NWPC lists two exceptions: household helpers, and people in the personal employ of another, such as family drivers. The NWPC publishes a separate monthly minimum wage for kasambahay in each region.

Some employers can apply to the wage board to be exempted: retail and service shops that regularly employ 10 workers or fewer, and businesses hit by a calamity. The NWPC's FAQ says an exemption lasts one year at most.

If you work as a freelancer or an independent contractor, your rate comes from your contract. On our reading, wage orders set what employers must pay the workers they employ. Freelancers also pay their own SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG:

Questions

What is the minimum wage in Metro Manila?

P755 a day for non-agriculture workers under Wage Order NCR-28, in effect since 26 September 2026. Agriculture, service and retail shops with 15 workers or fewer, and manufacturers with fewer than 10, pay at least P718.

How do I compute the monthly minimum wage?

Multiply the daily rate by 313 and divide by 12 if you work six days a week and aren't paid on rest days, or use 261 for five days a week. At P755 a day, that's P19,692.92 or P16,421.25 a month.

Why do some sites say Metro Manila's minimum wage is P780?

That was the second step of Wage Order NCR-27, due in January 2027. NCR-27 never took effect, so the rate is P755 under NCR-28, with no second step.

Does the minimum wage apply to kasambahay?

No, not the daily rates on this page: domestic workers have their own monthly minimum wage, set per region, which the NWPC lists separately.
