What the interview asks

  1. Do you have a valid professional driver's license? Say yes, give the license type, and bring the card to the interview.
  2. How do you know the roads in this area? Name areas you've driven and the map apps you use.
  3. What would you do if you can't find the customer's address? Call the customer, check the map, then tell dispatch if it still fails.
  4. What do you do if the traffic makes you late? Say you'd tell dispatch and the customer early, then take the best route.

How to get hired

  1. Most posts ask for at least a high school diploma and that you're 18 or older.
  2. Anyone paid to drive needs a professional driver's license from the LTO.
  3. TESDA offers a national certificate for this work: Driving NC II.
  4. Bring a resume, a valid ID, NBI clearance and your government numbers like SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG and TIN.
  5. Expect a short interview, and sometimes a road test or a medical check.

What the work is like

You spend most of your shift on the road, in traffic and in all weather. The hard part is tight delivery windows, so you plan each route before you leave.

Do I need experience to work as a delivery driver?

Not always. Many companies hire new drivers if you have a valid license and know the roads.

Is delivery driver work part-time?

Both. Some shops and apps hire part-time or on-call drivers, and courier companies hire full-time.

What should I study to become a delivery driver?

A driving course helps. TESDA offers a national certificate for this work: Driving NC II.
