  2. Can you work weekends, holidays and late shifts? Answer honestly. Kitchens plan the roster around busy days.
  3. What would you do if an order came back wrong or cold? Say sorry, remake it fast and tell your chef or supervisor.
  4. How do you keep food safe in the kitchen? Talk about handwashing, labeling, separating raw and cooked food, and clean tools.

Questions

Do I need experience to work as a cook?

Not always. Many kitchens hire helpers and train them, and you can start in prep and move up to cooking.

Do I need to study cooking to get hired?

Not always, but TESDA offers Cookery NC II, and it helps when you have no kitchen experience yet.

Is cook work part-time?

Both. Some places hire part-time cooks for busy days, and others hire full-time on set shifts.
