What the interview asks
How do you decide if a borrower can repay a loan? Walk through income, existing debts, cash flow and history, then name the ratios you would check.
What would you do if the documents don't match what the applicant told you? Say you would verify first, ask the applicant, and report it instead of guessing.
Tell us about a time you found a mistake in a set of numbers. Give one real example from school or work, and say how you fixed it.
What would you do if a manager wants to approve a loan you think is risky? Stay respectful, show your numbers and put your concerns in writing.
Most posts ask for a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related course.
Prepare a resume that lists your Excel skills and any finance or accounting subjects, projects or internships.
Bring a valid ID, NBI clearance and your government numbers such as SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG and TIN.
Apply online through company career pages or job sites, since many lenders hire this way.
Expect a technical interview and sometimes a short Excel or case study test.
What the work is like
You sit at a desk most of the day, reading documents and working in spreadsheets. The hard part is making careful decisions on incomplete information, often with deadlines.
