Duties to write on your resume

Start each line with what you did. Keep the ones you've really done.

First job? Use the same lines for a school booth, an online selling business or a family store, and say where.

A resume objective you can adapt

Hardworking graduate looking for a promodiser job, ready to travel between stores, talk to shoppers and keep product displays full and sales growing.

Skills employers ask for

What the interview asks

  1. Why do you want to be a promodiser? Say you enjoy talking to people and helping them pick a product, and give a real example.
  2. Can you work weekends, holidays and sale days? Answer honestly, because these are the busiest days for the stores you cover.
  3. How would you sell a product to a shopper who isn't interested? Ask what they need first, then explain one real benefit without pushing.
  4. What would you do if the shelf is empty and there's stock in the back? Check with the store staff, restock the shelf and note it in your report.

The questions every interview asks, with sample answers

How to get hired

  1. Most posts ask for at least a senior high school diploma, and some prefer college undergraduates or graduates.
  2. Prepare a resume, a valid ID and your government numbers, such as SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG and TIN.
  3. Apply online or send your resume to the brand or the agency that supplies promodisers to stores.
  4. Expect a short interview and sometimes a product knowledge talk or a trial day in a store.
  5. Some employers may ask for an NBI clearance and a medical certificate before you start.

What the work is like

You're on your feet for most of the shift, and you may cover more than one store in a day. The hard part is staying friendly and patient when shoppers walk past you.
