A resume objective you can adapt

Fresh graduate looking for a sales representative job, ready to talk to customers every day, learn your products fast and work toward monthly targets.

Skills employers ask for

What the interview asks

  1. Why do you want to work in sales? Say you like talking to people and reaching goals, and give one real example.
  2. How do you handle a customer who says no? Say you stay polite, ask why, and try again later with something useful.
  3. Tell me about a time you sold something or convinced someone. Use a school, online shop or family business story. Say what you did and what happened.
  4. Can you work with targets and travel to meet customers? Answer honestly. Employers need to know if you can go to client visits or work long days.

How to get hired

  1. Most posts ask for at least a senior high school diploma, and many prefer college undergraduates or graduates.
  2. Prepare your resume, a valid ID, and your NBI clearance and government numbers (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, TIN).
  3. Apply online or send your resume to the company, and look out for walk-in hiring days.
  4. Expect a short interview and sometimes a role play where you pitch a product to the interviewer.

What the work is like

You talk to many people every day, and some of them will say no. Targets can feel stressful, but you often get to meet different customers and learn fast.
