You get a National Police Clearance through the PNP's National Police Clearance System at pnpclearance.ph. You book and pay online, then go to the police station you picked for your photo and fingerprints. These are the PNP's own steps, read on 7 October 2026.
First job? A first time job seeker certificate from your barangay makes the clearance free, once.
How to apply for a police clearance online
- Go to pnpclearance.ph and click Register. If you've applied before, log in to that account instead.
- Fill in the registration form, submit it and sign in.
- Click Edit Profile, complete your personal details and save.
- Click Clearance Application. Pick the purpose, a date and the police station you want.
- Click the Landbank button, then Next, and save the appointment. You get an appointment reference number.
- Click to pay. You land on Landbank's ePayment portal. For GCash, Maya, 7-Eleven or Bayad Center, choose Cash Payment. Keep the payment confirmation slip or e-receipt as proof.
How much is a police clearance?
The PNP's guide says: "Clearance Fee is cost Php150 only." A convenience fee comes on top, and it depends on how you pay.
For first time jobseekers, the PNP's guide says the clearance is free and "can only be availed once".
What to bring to the police station
- One valid government-issued ID.
- Your proof of payment or payment confirmation.
- Your appointment reference number.
- First time jobseekers: the PNP's guide says to bring your first time job seeker certification with your one valid ID.
At the station they take your biometrics, photo and signature. Then you wait for your name to be called for verification or for the release of your clearance. The PNP says first-time applicants must appear in person for this.
How to renew without going to the station
Log in to the account you used last time and pick renewal, with or without appearance. The PNP's site says non-appearance is open to anyone who completed a clearance "in person within the last three years", on the same account.
- Update your profile.
- Upload a 2x2 picture and a selfie holding a valid government-issued ID.
- Wait for it to be processed, then download the clearance from your account profile.
If you work abroad or are bedridden, the PNP has a separate Clearance Certification for first-time applicants in those cases, explained on pnpclearance.ph.
How to check the site and the clearance are real
The system's home is pnpclearance.ph, and its footer credits the Philippine National Police. Payment goes through Landbank's ePayment portal, which the site sends you to.
To check a clearance, the site's Verify Clearance tool asks for the applicant's last name and the clearance's transaction number.

The PNP pages we read don't say how long a police clearance stays valid. Ask your employer how recent it needs to be.
Police clearance or NBI clearance?
They're two documents from two agencies. The police clearance comes from the PNP, and the NBI clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation. The First Time Jobseekers Assistance Act lists them separately, so an employer can ask for one or both. Check the list they gave you. Our NBI clearance guide covers the other one.
The rest of the usual list, from the barangay clearance to your TIN, is on our job requirements checklist. When you're ready, find a remote day shift job. Applying is free.
