Hardworking graduate with experience leading a small team, looking for an assistant manager role where I can support daily operations, coach staff and keep customers happy.

Skills employers ask for

What the interview asks

  1. Why do you want to be an assistant manager? Talk about helping a team do well, not just the title.
  2. Tell me about a time you handled a difficult customer or coworker. Give one real story: what happened, what you did, how it ended.
  3. How would you handle a staff member who is always late? Talk to them privately first, listen, then follow company rules.
  4. What would you do if the manager is away and something goes wrong? Stay calm, decide what you can, and report to the manager right after.

The questions every interview asks, with sample answers

How to get hired

  1. Most posts ask for a college degree or at least some college, plus experience as a supervisor or senior staff.
  2. Many companies promote crew or team leaders, so ask about internal openings where you work now.
  3. Prepare a resume, a valid ID, NBI clearance and your SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG and TIN numbers.
  4. Apply on company career pages and job sites, then expect two or three interview rounds.

What the work is like

You're the link between the manager and the team, so you get pulled in many directions. Weekends, holidays and closing shifts often fall on you.
