What the interview asks
Why do you want to be a team leader? Say you like helping others improve, and give a real example of helping a teammate.
How do you handle an agent who keeps missing targets? Say you listen first, find the cause, coach them, then follow up.
What would you do if a customer demands to speak to your manager? Stay calm, take ownership, try to solve it, and escalate only if needed.
How do you keep your team motivated during a hard shift? Give a specific example, like quick check-ins, small wins or helping on the floor.
Most posts ask for at least a year or more as a call center or customer service agent, and a college level or degree.
Prepare a resume that shows your quality scores, promotions or any time you helped teammates.
Gather your valid ID, NBI clearance, government numbers (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, TIN) and a medical certificate.
Apply on job sites or through your current company's internal posting if you're already an agent.
Expect an interview, a role play with a difficult customer, and sometimes an English or leadership assessment.
What the work is like
You work in an office or from home, often on rotating shifts, including nights and weekends. The hard part is being the middle person between the agents, the customers and your manager.
Questions
Do I need experience to become a team leader?
Yes, most posts ask for agent experience first. Many team leaders are promoted from within their own team.
Is team leader the same as supervisor?
They're close. Team leaders usually guide a small team on the floor, while supervisors often manage several teams and bigger reports.
What should I study to become a team leader?
Most posts accept any college course or level. Business, communication or psychology helps, but your agent record matters more.
