What to put in each part of your security guard resume
Objective
One sentence on the job you want and what you bring. If it fits you, adapt this one: Licensed security guard with Basic Security Guard Course training, looking for a post where I can stay alert, follow procedures and keep people and property safe through rotating shifts.
Licence and certificates
Your licence and its number, right under your objective. Every security guard needs a License to Exercise Security Profession (LESP) from the PNP. The law asks that you finish pre-licensing training, such as the Basic Security Guard Course. TESDA offers a national certificate for this work: Security Services NC II.
Skills
Four or five the job post asks for and you've really used, like staying alert and watchful for long hours, or writing clear incident reports and logbook entries.
Work experience
Newest job first. Under each one, three to five lines that start with what you did, with a number where you can: rounds, visitors and vehicles.
Education
Your school, what you finished and the year. Fresh graduate? Put it above work experience.
How to write your security guard resume: fill in this template
Replace every line in [brackets]. Delete a section you can't fill.
Put your licence near the top, under your objective.

No guard job yet? Put your education first, then your training and any related work where experience would go. Barangay tanod duty, school marshal work and security-related OJT count too, so say where. Add the Basic Security Guard Course if you finished it.

Security guard resume questions
Where does my security guard licence go on my resume?
Right under your objective, so it's the first thing an agency sees. Write the License to Exercise Security Profession (LESP) and the month you got it.
Should I list TESDA training on a guard resume?
Yes, if you finished it. Put Security Services NC II under Licence and certificates, with the year you got it. Add the Basic Security Guard Course too.
Should I put my birthday or a photo on it?
Leave your birthday off. Since 2016, Republic Act 10911 has made it unlawful for employers in the Philippines to require your age or birth date while you apply. Leave the photo off too, unless the job post asks for one.
Should I send it as a PDF or a Word file?
PDF, unless the job post asks for Word. A PDF looks the same on every screen. Put your name in the file name, like Jomar-Salcedo-Resume.pdf.
