Patient and caring applicant looking for a caregiver job, ready to work rotating shifts and give clients safe, respectful daily care.

Skills employers ask for

What the interview asks

  1. Why do you want to be a caregiver? Give a real reason, like caring for a family member, and say what you learned.
  2. What would you do if a client refuses to take medicine? Stay calm, never force them, and tell the nurse or family right away.
  3. Can you work nights, weekends and holidays? Answer honestly. Care is needed around the clock and they plan shifts around it.
  4. What would you do if a client fell? Don't move them, check for injury, call for help and report it.

What the work is like

You're on your feet a lot, lifting and moving clients, and the work can be tiring in body and heart. Shifts can run long or overnight, and the hardest part is staying patient on difficult days.
