  1. Why do you want to work as a dental assistant? Give a real reason, like liking patient care or detailed hands-on work.
  2. How do you keep instruments clean and safe? Walk through the steps you know: wash, disinfect, sterilize, store.
  3. What would you do if a patient is scared of the procedure? Stay calm, speak softly, explain each step and tell the dentist.
  4. Can you work Saturdays or long clinic days? Answer honestly, because clinics plan their schedules around it.

How to get hired

  1. Most posts ask for a dental assisting course or related training, and some accept a senior high school diploma with on-the-job training.
  2. Prepare a resume, a valid ID, NBI clearance and your government numbers like SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG and TIN.
  3. Expect to be asked for a medical certificate, since you work close to patients.
  4. Apply in person at clinics near you or through online job posts, then expect a short interview and sometimes a skills demo.

You're on your feet and close to patients most of the day. The hardest part is staying focused and gentle during long, busy clinic hours.
