What to put in each part of your pharmacist resume

Objective
One sentence on the job you want and what you bring. If it fits you, adapt this one: Licensed pharmacist looking for a pharmacy position where I can dispense medicines accurately, counsel patients clearly and help the team keep every prescription safe.
Licence and certificates
Your PRC licence and its number, right under your objective. Working as a pharmacist needs a PRC licence: pass the Pharmacists Licensure Examination, which asks for a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and an approved internship.
Skills
Four or five the job post asks for and you've really used, like reading prescriptions carefully and catching errors, or knowing medicines, doses and interactions.
Work experience
Newest job first. Under each one, three to five lines that start with what you did, with a number where you can: prescriptions, patients and staff.
Education
Your school, what you finished and the year. Fresh graduate? Put it above work experience.

How to write your pharmacist resume: fill in this template

  1. Replace every line in [brackets]. Delete a section you can't fill.
  2. Put your PRC licence near the top, under your objective.
  3. Keep it to one page if you've worked under five years.

Then save it as a PDF and apply. Download the Word file

How to write a pharmacist resume without experience

No pharmacist job yet? Put your education first, then your internship where work experience would go: the pharmacy or hospital, the hours and the tasks you did. Pharmacy assistant work counts too, so say where.

Pharmacist resume questions

Where does my PRC licence go on a pharmacist resume?

Right under your objective, so it's the first thing an employer sees. Most posts ask for a valid PRC licence, so write it there.

What do I write if I haven't passed the licensure exam yet?

Leave the licence lines off and lead with your education and internship. Pharmacy assistant roles may be open to you while you prepare for the exam.

Should I put my birthday or a photo on it?

Leave your birthday off. Since 2016, Republic Act 10911 has made it unlawful for employers in the Philippines to require your age or birth date while you apply. Leave the photo off too, unless the job post asks for one.

Should I send it as a PDF or a Word file?

PDF, unless the job post asks for Word. A PDF looks the same on every screen. Put your name in the file name, like Grace-Villafuerte-Resume.pdf.
