What to put in each part of your nurse resume
Objective
One sentence on the job you want and what you bring. If it fits you, adapt this one: Licensed nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, looking for a nursing job where I can give safe, kind patient care and keep learning on the ward.
Licence and certificates
Your PRC licence and its number, right under your objective. Nurses are licensed by the PRC: you pass the Nurses Licensure Examination, which asks for a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Skills
Four or five the job post asks for and you've really used, like clinical skills such as taking vital signs and giving medicines, or careful and accurate charting.
Work experience
Newest job first. Under each one, three to five lines that start with what you did, with a number where you can: patients a shift and beds on the ward.
Education
Your school, what you finished and the year. Fresh graduate? Put it above work experience.
How to write your nurse resume: fill in this template
Replace every line in [brackets]. Delete a section you can't fill.
Put your PRC licence near the top, under your objective.
Keep it to one page if you've worked under five years.

How to write a nurse resume without experience
No hospital job yet? Put your education first, then your clinical duty where work experience would go: the hospital, the wards and what you did there. Add your licence lines the month you pass the Nurses Licensure Examination.
Duties and skills to add to your nurse resume
The sample uses lines from the nurse job description. Pick the ones you've really done, and find the rest there. See the full nurse duties
Nurse resume questions
Where does my PRC licence go on a nurse resume?
Right under your objective, so it's the first thing a hospital sees. Write the licence, its number and the month you passed the Nurses Licensure Examination.
Can I apply before I pass the licensure exam?
You can, but most nurse posts want the licence first. Nurses are licensed by the PRC after the Nurses Licensure Examination, so write the month you'll take it.
Should I put my birthday or a photo on it?
Leave your birthday off. Since 2016, Republic Act 10911 has made it unlawful for employers in the Philippines to require your age or birth date while you apply. Leave the photo off too, unless the job post asks for one.
Should I send it as a PDF or a Word file?
PDF, unless the job post asks for Word. A PDF looks the same on every screen. Put your name in the file name, like Joanna-Belmonte-Resume.pdf.
