What to put in an endorsement letter for OJT or a job: template and 4 samples for the Philippines
Your school, a former boss or your barangay vouches for you to a company. Copy the format, pick from 3 samples, and use the request letter to ask for one.
What an endorsement letter should say
Who's endorsing you: their name, position and office, on letterhead if they have one.
Who they're endorsing, and for what: the OJT slot, job or program, and the company.
One or two reasons, like your grades, your work record or your volunteer work.
What's attached, like your resume or application letter.
Their contact details, then their signature over their printed name and position.
Mistakes that get it sent back
No signature or position under the name, no date, the wrong company or person named, or a letter that doesn't say what it's for. Check all four before you hand it in.
Endorsement letter or recommendation letter?
An endorsement letter comes from someone with a title, like a school, company or barangay official, and puts you forward for a specific slot or post. A recommendation letter is more personal: a boss or professor describes your work in detail. Send the one the company or school names in its requirements.
Endorsement letter template
The person endorsing you fills it in, on letterhead if they have one.
They replace every line in [brackets]: who you are, the OJT slot or job, and one or two reasons.
They sign it over their printed name and position, then give it to you or send it to the company.
Ask the company or office first if they have their own endorsement form. Download the Word file

Endorsement letter for OJT, from your school
Your OJT coordinator or internship adviser sends it to the company with your resume and application letter. Asked for a letter of intent too? Use the letter of intent for OJT.
Example only. Trisha Mae Gomez is an invented person, and every detail is made up.
I am pleased to endorse Jennylyn Ferrer, a resident of Purok 3, Barangay San Isidro for eight years, for the Sewing Machine Operator position at ABC Garments Inc.
Jennylyn has volunteered at our day care center since 2022, and this year she helped run our sewing class for 40 residents.
She has no derogatory record in this barangay.

Letter asking for an endorsement
For your OJT coordinator, a former boss or your barangay. Say what it's for, who it goes to and when you need it, and attach your resume.
Example only. Trisha Mae Gomez is an invented person, and every detail is made up.
I'd like to request an endorsement letter for my on-the-job training at XYZ Food Corp. in Lipa City, from January to March 2027.
The letter would go to Ms. Helen Santos, their HR Manager. They asked for it by October 15, 2026, with my resume and application letter.
I've attached both, with my signed parent's consent form.
Thank you for your help.
Respectfully yours,
Trisha Mae Gomez

Questions
What is an endorsement letter?
A signed letter in which a school, a former employer or a barangay official puts you forward to a company or office, for OJT, a job or a program.
What's the format of an endorsement letter?
A formal letter: letterhead, date, the recipient's name and address, a greeting, two or three short paragraphs, and a signature over the printed name and position. The template on this page uses that format.
Who signs an endorsement letter for OJT?
Your school's OJT coordinator or internship adviser, sometimes with the dean's signature too. Ask your coordinator what your school uses.
Can a barangay endorse me for a job?
Yes, if the employer or program asks for it. Ask at the barangay hall, since it may have its own form, and a barangay official signs it.
How do I ask for an endorsement letter?
In writing, a week or two before you need it. Say what it's for, who it goes to and the deadline, and attach your resume, like the request letter above.
Can I send an endorsement letter by email?
Yes, if the company takes it that way. Ask for a signed, scanned copy as a PDF, and keep the original.
